Australians Lillian Francesca Myer and Nathan Brown welcomed a creative and international crowd to their Provence wedding weekend. Now living in New York but growing up partly in Provence as a child, Lillian and Nathan chose to return to this beautiful part of the world which holds so many memories already. The wedding was held at boutique hotel Le Mas De La Rose, set within acres of French countryside. The entire wedding party were able to stay on site, essential catching up time as so many had flown in from Australia to be there for the couple.
Starting their wedding weekend with a relaxed welcome event by the pool, Lillian wore a crochet Alaïa dress as they greeted guests who had travelled from all around the globe to be with them in France.
Nathan and his groomsmen were outfitted in tailored suits and shirting by P Johnson. Nathan wore a silk ivory tuxedo jacket, while the rest of the male guests wore black tie. “Lyo Ishizuka, one of Nathan’s groomsmen, was at the time a partner in the tailoring house, and he did an exceptional job of making sure all the gentlemen were exceptionally presented throughout both days of celebrations,” says Lillian.
The Groomsmen
Lillian’s big-picture goal for her bridal wardrobe was to choose designers that represented different moments of her life up until now. “I knew I wanted to choose Australian, French and American designers.”
Nathan kept a lucky penny from both of their birth years in his loafers on the wedding day to bring good luck. They asked their guests to sign an old Parisian archive photo book instead of a traditional guest book.
Bridal fashionHer ceremony gown was Australian couture designer Leah Da Gloria’s Holly dress, which she says felt like a perfect mix of Art Deco, Old Hollywood, and Jean Paul Gaultier in its silhouette.
Post ceremony, a magnum of Boizel started the festivities. Negronis at the stone pool bar were served and a Provence-inspired peach seating-chart table anchored the space. The couple added individual French poems and quotes next to their guests’ names.
Prior to dinner Lillian changed into a custom piece designed with Kyha Scott from her Australian label, Kyha Bride.
The dinner look
Lillian changed into final look for the night - this Tom Ford gold-chain-detail gown and opened the dance floor with their favourite feelgood song, “Give Me the Night” by George Benson.
